Our Abyssinian Breeding Program

Susan and Graham Marshall have devoted more than 10 years to the art of breeding, raising and showing gorgeous, healthy and affectionate Abyssinians. Nightmist Abyssinians was established in 1995, after we were taken by the enchanting beauty and personality of the Abyssinian Breed, and we currently share our home with several of these wonderful cats. We are proud members in good standing of the CFA and TICA, and strive to produce kittens that exemplify the breed standard.

We pride ourselves on both the quality of our kittens - and the quality of the homes into which they are placed. We are very selective in our breeding practices, producing just one or two very special litters each year. Our breeding program emphasizes appearance, health and temperament - and we're always working to improve upon purr-fection! Our kittens are lovingly raised right in our home where they are given plenty of love, human attention and gentle handling from the time they are born to the time they are placed with their new owners. Our kittens are very well-socialized and make wonderful pets.

Health Testing and Guarantees

We are very careful to ensure that our cats are healthy and free from feline disorders. Our breeding cats are examined and vaccinated by our veterinarian, including blood typing. Kittens are vet-checked and vaccinated before being placed with their new owners, and come with a veterinary health certificate and health guarantee as detailed in our sales contract. We are very much against the practice of "de-clawing", and require that our buyers agree not to have this done to their kitten. We also require that all "pet-quality" kittens be spayed or neutered at the appropriate age to prevent irresponsible breeding practices and to help reduce the growing number of unwanted cats in animal shelters throughout the country.

Requirements For Abyssinian Kitten Buyers

As conscientious breeders, we are very concerned about the health, happiness and welfare of our babies. Potential kitten owners should have the knowledge, time, ability, facilities and resources to provide the care that a kitten needs to live a long, happy and healthy life. This includes the ability to provide proper food and regular veterinary care, in addition to being able to spend a reasonable amount of personalized time with the kitten each day. We are happy to provide any support and advice that may be needed by new owners in adjusting to life with their new family member, and enjoy staying in touch with our kittens and their new families.

Shipping can be arranged to approved homes within the USA and Canada. Shipping is at buyer's expense, weather permitting.
